Here’s a tip on dentalcrowns you should know before choosing your cosmetic dentist!

“The grinding of the teeth down to, you know, little pegs or shark’s teeth and then having things set over top of it, that is more of a very aggressive crown preparation.

Why would patients do that, and why are we seeing some of that?

And I’ll just say, why are we seeing some of that for this destination dentistry, right, of people being called and said, ‘Hey, come here and I’ll do your teeth.’

It’s easier. It’s easier for me to seat eight crowns and requires less detail and precision, in my opinion, than it is to do the correct thing of being more conservative and more minimally invasive and then seating those veneers.

It’s a lot more of a difficult procedure.

So if I had to guess, it’s because they’re just, ‘Hey, I need just to do this and I want to do it easy.’ And I hate to say it, they don’t think the patients are ever going to know or see it, right? Because they don’t know. They’re just going to look and say, ‘Hey, I got a great new smile and I love it.’

But they don’t know that that tooth structure is now gone, and we can never get it back.”
