INVISALIGN COLORADO SPRINGS

Invisalign Treatment

Do you want straighter teeth without the hassle of metal braces?

When people hear the word “braces,” they may automatically think about traditional metal braces. Fortunately, Invisalign braces are an effective and popular alternative orthodontic treatment. Invisalign clear aligners are made from smooth, clear material, drawing far less unwanted attention to your mouth than the traditional wires and brackets.

Avoid Sores and Soreness with Invisalign Clear Braces

Although traditional braces are sometimes the best option for severe orthodontic issues, most patients qualify for Invisalign clear braces. Metal braces can irritate your mouth, causing painful sores and lesions. The use of dental wax is often necessary for comfort, along with other specialized orthodontic tools.

Fortunately, Invisalign aligners are made from a smooth material that won’t make your mouth hurt. A patient may experience mild discomfort for the first few days when wearing new aligners, but the smooth material doesn’t cause soreness to the inside of your mouth.

Invisalign Clear Aligners Don’t Complicate the Way You Brush and Floss

Traditional braces use wires and brackets that need special cleaning tools and complicate flossing. If you want to continue to brush and floss the way you are used to doing, try Invisalign aligners. The trays are removable so you can easily take care of your teeth.

Our dental hygienist can also show you the best way to clean your teeth while you are wearing your aligners. If you already brush and floss every day, you have an excellent chance of avoiding cavities during your orthodontic treatment.

How Long Do You Need to Wear Invisalign Clear Braces?

Although treatment times vary, many patients wear their Invisalign aligners for about a year. The length of treatment depends on several factors, including the severity of your orthodontic issue. More severe cases may take a few extra months while minor misalignments may take less time.

Treatment Times Vary From One Patient To Another

Your orthodontic treatment is designed for you, which means your treatment time may vary from the treatment times of other patients. If you have a more severe overbite, underbite, or other type of misalignment, your treatment time may take longer than average.

However, the average patient can have a simple treatment plan. Many patients are finished with their Invisalign treatment in about a year. If your bite problem is less severe, you are looking at a shorter treatment time.

How the Design of Invisalign Clear Aligners Benefits You

Your Invisalign braces are designed with your lifestyle in mind! We take several measures to ensure your clear aligner trays have maximum efficiency.

  • Custom molds. Each mold is taken digitally so the aligner trays fit as precisely as possible.
  • Material. The SmartTrack® material is engineered for moving teeth into the right position.
  • Trim. Each series of aligners is trimmed to fit smoothly up against your gum line for comfort.
  • Quality check. The lab where your aligners are manufactured does a quality check on every aligner they make.

The Invisalign design is meant to be flexible and fit right into your lifestyle. The aligner trays are designed to move your teeth into an aligned position without fuss or painful adjustments.

Correcting Misalignments With Innovative Design

The design of the Invisalign clear aligners can correct the following orthodontic issues:

  • Overbite: the top teeth jut out over the bottom teeth.
  • Underbite: the bottom teeth come up over the top teeth.
  • Crossbite: the teeth overlap on the top and on the bottom.
  • Gaps: unusually large spaces between teeth.
  • Open bite: when your bite doesn’t close all the way.
  • Crooked teeth: teeth that don’t align evenly.
  • Mostly straight teeth: when just a few teeth look crooked.
  • Mixed permanent and baby teeth: when permanent teeth don’t come in straight.

Your smile is a big part of you, and we want you to feel good about showing off your beautifully straight teeth. We can show you how Invisalign clear aligners work along with a few examples of our many success stories.

What to Expect From an Invisalign Treatment

The Invisalign experience is customized for each patient, so your own treatment will be unique to you! However, the overarching process will follow this general outline.

Come in for a Consultation

The Invisalign treatment process starts right here in our office! Patients generally come in for a consultation visit before beginning the treatment process. The dentist can take a look at your teeth, evaluate your bite, and let you know if you are a good candidate for Invisalign braces.

We Start With a Digital Scan

Your treatment starts with a 3D digital scan of your mouth. This digital file is sent to the Invisalign labs where your new set of aligner trays is made. The digital scan allows for precise, customized trays to be designed for your specific orthodontic problem.

Aligner Tray Pick-up and Check

Once your aligners arrive in our office, we’ll have you come back in to pick them up. The dentist will also have you try on the first set to double-check the fit and comfort of the aligners. You can then take home your next few sets of trays and get started on your treatment.

Getting Used To and Wearing Your Aligners

As we mentioned before, wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours every day ensures the best possible results. You can take them out when you eat and brush your teeth, but you should wear the aligner trays when you sleep. Keep your aligners in a protective case when you are not wearing them.

You should also clean your aligners every day. When you remove the trays to brush your teeth, rinse them out and brush them with your toothbrush. You can also order Invisalign cleaning products specially designed to clean your aligner trays.

Visit Us To Ensure Invisalign Is Working for You

We’ll have you come back to our office every six to eight weeks so the dentist can check on your progress. We want to make sure your Invisalign aligners are doing their job correctly. Our dentist can also ensure that your aligners are safely moving your teeth into place.

How Invisalign Braces Fit Into Your Life
