Survey Says Women Prioritizing Themselves in ’15, and Smiles a Focal Point

Among women’s New Year’s resolutions for 2015 are prioritizing their personal needs and desires, including the appearance of their smiles, according to the findings of a recent survey.

If you’ve been neglecting dental work or you’re unhappy with the state of your smile, talk to your dentist. Custom cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry treatments are available to meet your unique needs and aesthetic desires.

Appearance and Self-Confidence

In a recent poll conducted by Kelton and sponsored by the makers of the Invisalign® teeth-alignment system, 53 percent of women said they are more interested in improving themselves physically than mentally or emotionally in the new year; 47 percent said their self-confidence was linked to their physical appearance.

A healthy, properly aligned smile was one goal that many women set for themselves in 2015. According to the survey’s findings, 48 percent of women with misaligned teeth who set personal goals for themselves responded that they want to improve their smiles this year; about half of the survey participants said that having nicer smiles would improve their confidence.

The Invisalign New Year, New You survey polled approximately 1,000 American women between the ages of 25 and 54.

Invisalign® and a New Smile

Invisalign is a comfortable and virtually invisible alternative to traditional metal braces, and an increasing number of adults are discovering how Invisalign can effectively and discreetly straighten teeth.

Although the bite conditions known as malocclusions are often associated with teenagers, many adults suffer from improperly spaced or misaligned teeth as well. But some grown-ups are reluctant to pursue treatment because they believe that metal braces are the only option, and they worry about the appearance of braces and the frequent office visits necessary for adjustments.

Invisalign uses a series of clear, form-fitting aligners that you change at home as directed by your dentist. Your follow-up visits are limited and brief, and they are intended to monitor your progress as the Invisalign system gradually shifts your teeth into healthy alignment.

Colorado Springs dentist Dr. Andrew Hall understands that your oral health directly affects your overall health, and that a healthy, beautiful smile can also make you feel good about yourself.
