Rinse and clean your trays
Rinse aligners with cool or lukewarm water each time you remove them. Brush them gently with a soft brush. Use the cleaner your dental team suggests.
Do not use hot water. Heat may change the shape of the plastic. Avoid rough toothpaste, colored soap, and harsh household cleaners. They may scratch or stain the trays.
Brush before trays go back in
Take aligners out for meals and for any drink other than plain water. Brush and clean between your teeth before you put them back. If you cannot brush at once, rinse well and clean as soon as you can.
Trapped food and sugar can raise the risk of decay. Regular preventive dental care is still important during treatment.
Store aligners in their case
Use the case whenever the trays are out. A napkin makes aligners easy to lose or throw away. Keep the case away from heat, pets, and small children.

Why dental guidance matters
