A computer provides directions to a robotic milling machine, which then crafts a crown from a cube of dental-grade porcelain; the crown is designed to resemble a healthy, natural tooth and to fit seamlessly with your smile. The dental crown process used to require physical moulds of the mouth. As patients were waiting weeks for their crowns to be shaped in a laboratory, they would wear temporary crowns, which capped and encircled the damaged tooth or dental implant post.
