While we always aim to provide the best dental care possible, there are never any guarantees in life. That’s why at The Studio for Exceptional Dentistry, we provide a five-year warranty on all dental work performed at our practice.
If any of your restorations fall out or become chipped or broken, call the practice right away. We always allow time for emergency dental work and will endeavour to fit you in as soon as possible. All you have to do to be eligible for this five-year warranty is maintain our regular maintenance recommendations. This means taking proper care of your oral health at home, brushing twice a day and flossing once at night, as well as attending your check-up and clean every six months.
My crown fell out – what do I do?
If you feel your crown becomes loose or even falls out while you are speaking or eating, take it out of your mouth. You don’t want to risk swallowing it. You should then examine your tooth and the crown to ascertain whether the problem was caused by a fracture or if the crown simply came off your tooth. Clean the area with a gentle toothbrush and rinse well to remove all food from the area.
Call the practice as soon as possible to discuss your situation and to schedule your repair appointment. Your tooth will not be as strong without the crown attached, and it may be sensitive to foods and drinks, so it is important that you get your crown re-attached as soon as possible. Save the crown in a clean, dry plastic bag or container and bring it with you to your appointment.
Once you come in to see Dr Hall, he will assess the area and determine whether the existing crown can be used or if you will need a full replacement. He will discuss your options with you and move forward from there.
If you have kept up with the appropriate dental care at home and attended your dental check-ups and cleaning every six months, you will be eligible for the five-year warranty. This means your crown will be replaced for you free-of-charge.
Dental veneers are another popular treatment offered at The Studio for Exceptional Dentistry. If looked after properly, they generally last for multiple years, however, sometimes damage can occur and a replacement is necessary.
If you notice a fracture in one of your veneers or it becomes loose, contact us immediately. As your tooth was prepared for your veneer, it will be too sensitive without its veneer shell. To replace, Dr Hall will carefully remove the broken veneer and may need to prepare for tooth once more.
If you have any other kind of dental emergency, our recommendation is to call us as soon as possible. We will be able to talk you through your individual assessment and organize and an emergency appointment. For more information about our five-year warranty, call our friendly team today.
